I have baggage! Both kinds, actually, but most importantly I have CLEAN KNICKERS. And not ones that have been washed in the sink and 'dried' overnight.
I mean, yes, I'm in a gorgeous city and having a lovely time playing tourist, but let's get priorities straight here.
And shout out to the amazing woman at the British Airways baggage counter in Manchester. She truly worked miracles and - most miraculous of all - did not laugh even once when I, sleep deprived and almost entirely incoherent, tried to explain what was going on.
Anyway, I have not yet managed to take my not-my-SLR-but-better-than-my-phone camera into town (doing that today), but I HAVE taken a few photos which I'll try to hurry into some sort of order and post when I get back today. Or maybe tomorrow...
NB: I have not yet 1) had fish and chips, 2) succumbed to the charms of the advertised Yorkshire pastry shop I pass nearly every day or 3) bought a bag of Walkers salt-and-vinegar crisps. But that day is inevitable.
Megan,
Am glad y'all are doing well and you are brightening up England! My wife and I saw your wonderful and purposeful daughter this summer, as you know, and were so impressed... but being an empty nester in Yorkshire should be simply magical for you!! Ah, to get a tea and scone at Bettys - watch a cricket game in Pickering - walk the pier in Whitby. Cheers!!! john r
