Blerg - guys I have 2.5 weeks of the semester left and 4 major projects still to go so bear with me. Posting will pick up after the end of April, I do solemnly swear. In the mean time, and while I procrastinate doing a textual analysis of a grammatical feature of As You Like It (aka Pronouns are fun! Pronouns are sexy! Take a pronoun to bed tonight!), a scene from university campus.
Two young (ish? Hard to tell - maybe young and very unwashed, maybe older and rumpled) men, clad mostly in duck tape and flimsy posters protesting along one side of the performing arts center. They did seem very sincere but I was a bit baffled as to what they were protesting since their posters ([Major Corporation] Tortures Animals!) did not seem to have anything to do with their shouted slogan ("I Will Not Fear!"). However I give them points for a) courage - applying duck tape anywhere near their very long hair (dread locks? Or a nearly violent indifference towards brushes/combs?) and b) sheer talent as much of the duck tape they were wearing was over their mouths and yet the slogan was clear and completely audible. Not sure how they managed that, but props to you dirty protesting people, props to you.
